Gadar 2, also known as Mutiny 2 with the subtitle The Katha Continues, is a 2023 Indian Hindi film that belongs to the Historical Action Drama genre. The film is directed and produced by Anil Sharma and the script is written by Shaktimaan Talwar. A sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the sequel stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in their respective roles from the original film. The plot of Gadar 2 sees Tara Singh returning to Pakistan to rescue her son who was imprisoned during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
Gadar 2 was released in theaters on August 11, 2023. The film was a considerable commercial success, grossing over 596.84 million rupees (equivalent to US$75 million) worldwide. This success made the film the third highest-grossing Indian film of the year and the second-highest grossing Hindi film.
